What is unusual in this case wherein the main accused of the Baba Siddique shooting incident, did not escape right from the spot after releasing bullets. However, the conduct that he displayed thereafter has given rise once more to further speculative doubts about his intentions and his mental status.
In the aftermath of the shooting to death of Baba Siddique, the accused did not try to run away or hide. However, his subsequent movements have left the efforts of police in the search blank.

Baba Siddique- Shooting
The main accused Shiv Kumar Gautam in the murder case of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique has claimed that he was given a choice to kill either the 66-year-old leader or his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique, the police sources added.
He was arrested Sunday along with four of his assistants from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh while attempting to escape to Nepal at the age of 20.
Shiv Kumar is one of the three persons — Gurnail Singh of Haryana, Zeeshan Siddique— and Dhramraj Kashyap of Uttar Pradesh who fired at Mr Siddique outside the office of Zeeshan Siddique in Mumbai on October 12. Subsequently, having committed the act, Singh was arrested along with Kashyap but Shiv Kumar escaped.
According to the statement recorded by the police during interrogation, Shiv Kumar said that Anmol Bishnoi, who is the brother of jailed gangster Lawrance Bishnoi asked him to shoot whosoever he comes across first.
Earlier to the murder, the main accused identified as Anmol Bishnoi presently either in Canada or in hiding is present on the most wanted list of the National Investigation Agency had motivated Shiv Kumar.
Some Mumbai police crime branch sources stated that Anmol disclosed to him what he was going to do was for “God and the society”.
Zeeshan Siddique, 32, says a picture of him was discovered on a cell phone that police recovered from one of the three men who shot his father.
What Happened After The Death?
After shooting Baba Siddique dead, Shiv Kumar Gautam removed his shirt and quickly mingled with the crowd in a bid not to be recognized as per Mumbai police crime branch sources.
He then withdrew within the vicinity of the crime scene to stay out of any confrontations. He then retreated closer to the scene of the crime in order not to engage in unnecessary fighting.
The 20-year-old then first went to Kurla in an auto and caught a local train to Thane, the sources added. From Thane, he traveled by train to Pune and threw the mobile phone into the train compartment.
Shiv Kumar was immersed in Pune for a maximum period of 7 days, and then he took a train for Jhansi- Uttar Pradesh. He then spent five days there before proceeding to the state capital, Lucknow.
In Lucknow, he purchased a new mobile and called his party workers. He stayed in hiding there for 11 days before going to his village of Bahraich and meeting his chiefs who had relocated him to a secret house in another village.
After killing Baba Siddique, Shiv Kumar Gautam planned to visit Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. He then intended to go to Vaishno Devi in Jammu. Finally, he planned to leave India.
The police arrested around 45 people. This group included Shiv Kumar’s family members and associates. The police tracked their movements after the murder.
During the investigation, officers identified four individuals. These four were frequently in contact with Shiv Kumar.
The police set up a trap and waited for the suspects to meet him. On Sunday, they arrested Shiv Kumar in the Nanpara area of Bahraich.
They arrested him in a police raid conducted jointly with the police officials of Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai.
Other persons who were arrested include Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tiwari, Akash Srivastav, and Akhilesh Pratap Singh were also booked for harboring and aiding Shiv Kumar to escape to Nepal.
